East Coast Instruments is an Instrument Supply company, concentrating on the sales of  field instruments to the Process Control Industry.

This has been its core objective since its inception in 1983. In those days, during the “Apartheid” era, there was a world embargo imposed on South Africa, leading to  a shortage of equipment and instrumentation locally. This led to many companies manufacturing equipment as required, and many local instrument and equipment manufacturers came into existence.

There was a need, following this, for effective sales and promotion of these manufactured items. Companies like East Coast Instrumentation Sales cc started up with the mandate to market locally manufactured products to the local industry. A difficult task, surprisingly enough, because the costs of local production was nowhere near the low costs of the imported products, even accessed via back door operators and importers.

Non the less, companies such as East Coast Instruments had fun competing against many large manufacturers who were surprised at the ability of the local market to produce some fine equipment. We can praise the Lord that we still exist where many larger companies have disappeared, and can hope and pray that our future is secure in His hands.

We are currently a seven man (and woman) band, with designs to expand into the hydraulic market in 2012.

Our current ranges include equipment for monitoring and control of Pressure, Temperature, Level and Flow Fluid Control, Gas Detection, Panel, Test & Analytical Equipment, Calibration Services, and specialist Hydrological Telemetry equipment supplied almost exclusively to the local and national water departments.
